If this is the first time you have visited this website, and you are asking the question ‘why am I here?’ then please scroll right down to the blog post which is titled Why am I Here. It is important that you do this because each post is dependent on whether you have read the first one, and then the next in order. If you read my previous blog post, the question was asked ‘why am I here?’. But before you can answer that question you need to ask does God exist? I am hoping that even if I didn’t convince you that God exists, that at least I have given you food for thought. These questions are incredibly profound, and aren’t easily answered.
One thing I do know, is that you are searching for Him, even if you don’t know it. Just asking that question tells me you are wanting something more from life than the daily grind. Probably you also want to know where you are going. That is also a very profound question, but if you don’t believe God exists it doesn’t matter.Again if we are only here by accident, and there is no future for us, we have no real value, only what others think of us, and they aren’t eternal, well it stands to reason we aren’t going anywhere.
But if God does exist, than everything changes. If God exists than He must have a plan and purpose for each one of us. If God exists can we get to know HIm. If He is the Creator of the world and the Universe, He must be awesome, so how can frail man possibly know Him and obey Him.
It is said that our lives here on planet earth is in parenthesis, in other words this life is just a temporary dwelling place, our own bodies are just temporary, and that our real life begins after death. That should make us wonder if we are living our life the way that will benefit us when we die.
People often talk about going to heaven, they write sympathy cards for people who have died saying they are ‘in heaven with the angels’. I think there is a deep longing in each one of us to know that death isn’t the end, but in fact the beginning of a more wonderful life than we can ever dream or think of, but if we can’t know and obey God whilst here on earth, will we be able to even go to heaven.
What do I mean by Heaven, is it a place? Or is it another dimension. I can’t really answer that question factually, I don’t believe it is a place like another planet – I know some people think it is. I believe Heaven is where God is, and He is all around us.
I have just read that Nasa using the Hubble Telescope in 1994 photographed what they thought to be Heaven, a city fully lit up sitting in space. I then tried to research this and typed into Google ‘Hubble Photographs Heaven’ and the original article was there, it is from Weekly World News. I have no way of authenticating this but it did lead me to Nasa’s site and the photographs there were utterly amazing, astounding and wonderful. What a Mighty God we serve.
The Bible gives us some incredible descriptions of God in His Throne Room. The Bible is the one really tangible object of God that we have. It is a love letter to us from God, a manual on how to live life as He wants us to live.
I understand that when we get to Heaven, there will be no more grief, fear, tears or pain of any description, and that is good enough for me.
His Throne Room however is where everything happens, where He gives His plans to the Angels.
What do I mean by Angels, they are God’s messengers. God in Ancient Hebrew is called El, and Elohim (which means God plural). Do note the el in the word Angel, it is also in the Archangel Michael’s name and the Archangel Gabriel’s name, but interestingly not in Lucifer’s name. God knew the end from the beginning, He is Almighty, Omniscient (All knowing) Omnipresent (Everywhere) and Omnipotent (Sovereign over all), and of course Eternal. He never changes, He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Below this paragraph is a video of how two people were saved out of a terrific accident by angels than pulling people out of a car accident. I included this video because it reminded me of my son’s car accident in 1988, when he was trapped in a car on fire, and there just happened to be a man walking along the road ( a main road from Norwich to London, a desolate spot with no houses nearby) at 6.50am on a Sunday morning, with a bucket of water and he put out the flames. I have never seen anyone walking along that road ever, and I have driven many times along it.
God knew that rebellion would start in Heaven. That is a shocking statement, but Lucifer was an angel of Light, an anointed cherub, a perfection of wisdom and beauty and was the Chief Musician and Worship Leader, but wanted to be God, wanted to sit on His Throne, wanted God’s Glory and Praise for himself. He led a third of all angels astray. When they sided with him, they were also cast out of heaven and dwell with him now in a place called Hades. It is his darkness and awfulness that afflicts this poor world today.
He is very subtle, he comes as an angel of light, he causes us to doubt, he says, ‘did God really say that? He makes us doubt who we are in God. His followers, or ex angels, are the demons that come and torment us. Hades or Hell is a place of the damned, a dreadful place, a fearful place and I certainly don’t want to go there. It is a place of separation from God, so when people say that life is hell on earth, what they are really saying they are separate from God.
He was given dominion over this earth by man, Adam. I will write about the Fall of Man and the subsequent consequences in my next blog post. But for now just know that he is doing everything he can to get man to not believe in God and obey God, he is doing his best to send everyone to hell and to make life on this earth as difficult as it possibly can be for all who are not his.
